March 31, 2011 - PRLog -- You test drive a car, try on a new outfit and now there’s an invitation to live in an apartment before committing to buy it.

The Try Before You Buy scheme has been launched at Avonpark Village near Bath and is open to anyone interested in buying a new home at the retirement village.

A specially dedicated apartment has been set up to provide a home from home for visitors who are able to stay overnight and enjoy the facilities. There is the opportunity to join in any of the village activities and meet the neighbours over morning coffee or afternoon tea.

The scheme has already proved popular at other villages within the Retirement Villages portfolio. Some guests have been so taken with the lifestyle and properties that they have reserved their new home during their complimentary stay.

“Some people find it difficult to imagine themselves living in a retirement village,” said the company’s Sales and Marketing Director Sarah Burgess. “Owning your own home while having exclusive access to such extensive communal facilities isn’t the kind of lifestyle many people will have experienced before. I always describe the Try Before You Buy scheme as giving people the chance to ‘see and feel’ how it could work for them.”

Avonpark Village is an established community in Limpley Stoke, near Bath, offering a wide range of living options – from independent living right through to a registered nursing home.

The Try Before You Buy apartment is a one bedroom apartment conveniently situated on the first floor in Alexander Hall, comprising sitting room, kitchenette, shower room and bedroom. It is fully equipped for an overnight stay.

The communal facilities at Avonpark Village include a restaurant, bar, lounge and garden room, library area, hair salon and extensive grounds with sweeping views of the Avon Valley.

Homes at the village are priced from £145,000. For more information or to arrange to take part in the Try Before You Buy scheme please call us on 01225 721307.
