“As East Liverpool City Hospital moves forward it is key that our hospital and our physician community are in alignment,” said Kenneth Cochran, RN, FACHE, President and CEO of ELCH. “The IMI hospital medicine program will serve our physicians by handling inpatient care management, providing 24/7 coverage and managing unassigned patients. I am especially pleased by IMI’s track record for keeping all referring physicians fully informed about their patients’ hospital care. IMI has outstanding physician satisfaction and patient satisfaction performance scores. This program has been selected to assist local physicians who do not currently admit patients directly to our hospital. More importantly, this will help local residents receive care right here at home.”
East Liverpool City Hospital is an acute care hospital that has not had a hospitalist program prior to the agreement with IMI. With nearly 150 beds and 90 on-staff physicians and mid-level providers, ELCH serves communities in the greater Ohio-Pennsylvania-
“We are truly pleased to bring hospital medicine to East Liverpool City Hospital and to the physicians and patients it serves,” said Terri Orf, President of IMI. “Our hospitalists make important contributions to continuity of care and a seamless delivery of services to the hospital, the patient and the primary care physician. We’re committed to the full community of healthcare providers in the greater East Liverpool area.”
The IMI hospital medicine program for ELCH will employ a physician director, 2.5 physician full-time-equivalent positions initially and a nurse director. IMI’s Dyad Leadership model consists of the physician director and the nurse director working in tandem to address clinical goals and administrative requirements that will result in outstanding performance. As anticipated goals are met, further expansion of the staff will follow.
