DRM Farms/SunPower Biodiesel to Buy Oil Seed Crops

March 30, 2011 - PRLog -- Cumberland, WI – DRM Farms has launched their search for farmers interested in growing canola as a profitable option for a rotation crop.  SunPower Biodiesel, in conjunction with DRM Farms, is now fixed to buy oil seed crops; with drying, storage and transportation capabilities at their Cumberland, WI facility.

SunPower Biodiesel, LLC uses canola seed in the production of its Premium Cold Flow Biodiesel, buying the seed in WI, MI, MN and the Dakotas.  Canola is quite adaptable with regard to soil type, and has shown profitability on marginal crop lands where other crops are not as feasible. It has revealed drought tolerance and preference to cooler temperatures, making canola ideal as a featured or alternative crop in the mid-western region of the United States.

The selling price for the seed will ultimately depend on the quality and current canola commodity values.  Other oil seeds, such as sunflower, camelina and flax, will also be considered for purchase.  Contact John Thomas of DRM Farms or Herb Blaser for more information, 877-882-5313.
