Follow on Google News | Orange County Convention Center hosts first interactive lounges at HIMSSSmart City Networks partnered with Monster Media to launch the first mobile lounge of its kind at the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) tradeshow held at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.
To present HIMSS with this one-of-a-kind digital experience, Monster Media, a leader in digital out-of-home advertising, and Smart City Networks, the nation’s largest provider of event technology, created six Monster Mobile Hot Spot Lounges within the event space, where attendees took advantage of free Wi-Fi and new Monster Charging Stations. In addition, three Monster iPOPs™, interactive kiosks that detect presence and body motion while incorporating video and 3-D capabilities, promoted the HIMSS mobile website. These interactive displays also featured live digital QR codes that users could scan with their smartphones, sending them directly to the HIMSS mobile website (view video at: http://www.monstermedia.net/ The combination of Smart City Networks’ high-speed wired and wireless networks, Monster Media’s advanced digital signage systems and the OCCC’s flexible infrastructure offered attendees new and innovative ways to stay “connected.” “The Smart City team was a great advocate for HIMSS to improve our attendee experience through new technology solutions such as ReCharge Lounges and Interactive Signage,” said Karen Malone, vice president of meeting services, HIMSS. The ReCharge Lounges provided attendees with six convenient areas on the show floor to freely access the Internet with custom engineered Wi-Fi and charge their mobile devices. The Interactive Signage provided a valuable way for attendees to better understand and leverage the HIMSS mobile website. “From an operations perspective, Smart City’s staff worked very closely with HIMSS to carefully assess our needs and provide suggestions to make the show more effective for our attendees,” added Malone. “With tradeshow attendance on the rebound, now is the perfect time to expand our tradeshow network and branch out with a unique combination of products utilizing the latest technologies,” Payne says due to the success of its initial launch, these cutting-edge displays will be expanding into national airports and convention center’s worldwide. “We keep an eye on new trends in the convention industry that complement our business and the needs of our customers, and interactive digital signage fit those criteria," said Mark Haley, president of Smart City. “Our feedback from show managers has been that this is the next evolution beyond digital signs that simply push general information to attendees. The interactive systems from Monster engage the user, collect data and provide analytics to the show manager or sponsor.” “We are pleased with our ongoing partnership with SmartCity, working together to create exceptional experiences for HIMSS and all clients of the OCCC”, said Kathie Canning, deputy general manager, OCCC. “This new offering is one example of how we are working with our partners to develop unique services for meeting planners and attendees when they meet at our venue.” About Monster Media: Monster Media remains the innovator and leader in the out-of-home space, creating engaging campaigns that can be executed anywhere, at anytime.
