March 30, 2011 - PRLog -- PASO ROBLES, CA – Quail Run Senior Estates, a senior community in Paso Robles, recently installed solar panels to promote their environmentally friendly outlook and to save money on their energy bill.  The system was installed by Solarponics and was the first retirement community to receive a solar system from Solarponics.

“Although we are a senior community, we are a proactive and progressive group.  We believe in caring for the environment and of course, saving money wherever possible.  Our solar system will allow us to do just that.  Technology is a great thing and we make every attempt to stay current,” said Jack Rancour, Quail Run manager.

The system will be used to provide energy for the community’s office, clubhouse, pool and spa.  The eighty-eight panels are projected to save an estimated $7,200 a year, which is about ninety percent of Quail Runs’ electrical costs.

“The system will have a very quick return of investment.  It will allow them to free up money to spend on the mobile home park to make the community as nice as they want,” said Ryan VanDeMark, energy assessor at Solarponics.

Quail Run Senior Estates has over 310 mobile homes and has been in operation since 1980.  The community provides a number of amenities and activities for residents, who are all 55 years or older.

“Anyone interested in saving money should look into the solar option.  We generate more electrical power than we need.  We have many lights in operation and use a lot of power, so generating our own power is the ultimate,” said Jack Rancour.
