New Leadership Announced by RI Democratic City and Town Chairs

The RI Association of Democratic City & Town Chairpersons held its biennial organizational meeting on March 23, 2011 at 1149 Restaurant.

March 30, 2011 - PRLog -- The RI Association of Democratic City & Town Chairpersons held its biennial organizational meeting on March 23, 2011 at 1149 Restaurant. The meeting was hosted by the East Greenwich Democratic Town Committee.  At the meeting the membership unanimously elected a slate of officers for the 2011-2013 term.  The new President is Katrina Therien, who is also chair of the North Smithfield Democratic Town Committee and a long-time member of the Association.

The other officers who were elected:
1st Vice President J. Clement Cicilline,  2nd Vice President John J. Bevilacqua,  Secretary Carol Anne Costa, and  Treasurer Thomas C. Plunkett.  All of these officers serve as chairs of their respective city and town committees.  The association is a strong one made up of 39 committee chairs and Democratic leaders and elected officials.  It represents over 1,600 of the state's most active and informed Democrats.

Congressman David Cicilline and RI State Democratic Chair, Edwin Pacheco were on hand to offer congratulations to the new board and all of the members of the association for the hard grassroots work done on behalf of all Democrats.  New President Katrina Therien noted, “I look forward to continuing the mission of this wonderful group of Democrats. I am confident we will move the organization forward and work very hard in the upcoming election cycle.”
