March 29, 2011 - PRLog -- Chicago, IL – This chapter conference is hosted by the Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance of Greater Chicago. The Symposium is designed for consumers of services, family, friends, and coworkers of persons with mood-disordered behavior. Mental health professionals attending the full-day event are eligible for 6 CEUs.  

Dr. Ken Moses is the keynote speaker. He is a clinical psychologist who maintains a practice in Evanston, IL. His private practice is limited to the issues of grieving and human growth in the shadow of loss. Dr. Moses is a nationally renowned speaker, author, and clinician, who regularly lectures and provides seminars & professional training throughout the United States & Europe. He has devoted his career to helping people deal with crisis, trauma, and loss. Dr. Moses has focused much of his work on parents of impaired children and disabled adults. He has faced deaths, life-threatening illness, disabilities and other major traumas in his own family & life.  He has continued to help people sort out their lives after experiencing loss and struggles with the same issues himself. He received his PhD degree from the Illinois Institute of Technology.

The Depression and Bipolar Support Alliance of Greater Chicago (DBSA-GC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to bettering the lives of persons with mood disorders.  The organization offers self-help groups, educational meetings and this annual symposium. They are the originators of DBSA, a national organization, with hundreds of affiliates across the U.S. and Canada. The mission of DBSA-GC is to help those who are suffering from these illnesses and to improve their lives.
