New concert series provides musicians unique opportunity to reach audience to the tune of a billion plus.                                          

LOS ANGELES, California - March 28, 2011 - The billion plus audience in China is hungry to experience the wealth of musical talent in Hollywood.  The Carter Larsen Project will provide a platform for artists, personally selected by renowned pianist and composer Carter Larsen, to gain major media exposure in China.  The Carter Larsen Project will produce a series of concerts in Los Angeles, which will be filmed for broadcast in mainland China.  

Last year Larsen performed a sold out concert during the 2010 EXPO at the Shanghai Grand Theatre, which was televised to an audience of 500 million people.  He brought his Hollywood film credentials and classical musical pedigree to an eager audience in China.  This year, Carter Larsen’s goal is to offer talented musicians the same opportunity to reach a substantial audience in China through this new concert series. Plus, Carter Larsen is scheduled to perform in the Shanghai Film Festival June 2011, which will feature filmed performances from the Carter Larsen Project in Los Angeles to a televised audience in China of close to 1 billion.

The first concert in the Carter Larsen Project Series will take place on April 9th, 2011.  The venue is the prestigious Zipper Concert Hall, located at the Music Center, Downtown Los Angeles.  There will be a red carpet opening celebration, with interviews by invited celebrities and the VIP post-performance reception will include celebrities and luminaries from the film industry.

About Carter Larsen
Twenty-first century composer Carter Larsen has an extensive repertoire of piano works, exceeding the solo piano output of many of history’s most prolific composers.  Beyond his success as a composer, Larsen is also renowned as a concert pianist in Europe, performing over five-hundred concerts.  Performances include the Royal Philharmonic and the London Symphony Orchestra as soloist with television appearances and broadcasts on BBC and PBS.  Larsen has scored for Hollywood studios including Paramount, Fox, PBS, BBC, and Discovery.  He has been asked to compose music for over thirty films such as Paramount’s Star Trek, Nosferatu, and the Mark of Zorro.  He also served as featured conductor in the 70th Academy Awards.
