SOLO Mars Madness Sweepstakes & Contest: Win an iPad 2 or an Apple TV

SOLO: The Series and DataDirect Networks to give away 5 Apple TV’s and 1 iPad2 32GB beginning April 12, 2011 to SOLO Subscribers on YouTube.

PRLog - Mar. 29, 2011 - Hollywood, CA  – SOLO: The Series (http://watchsolo.com), the critically acclaimed, indie sci-fi dramedy, and their sweepstakes sponsor DataDirect Networks (http://DDN.com), the world’s largest privately-held information storage company, today announced that they will give away 5 Apple TVs and 1 iPad 2 (32GB) to six lucky fans in celebration of the six new episodes premiering on YouTube beginning Tuesday, April 12th, 2011 – which just happens to be the 30th anniversary of the Space Shuttle Program.

“We are ecstatic that our friends at DataDirect Networks have jumped aboard to help us launch the remaining six episodes of our first season of SOLO,” said Jonathan Nail, creator and star of the show. “DDN is a natural fit as our sponsor. They are the leading data infrastructure provider for the world’s most scalable, content-intensive enterprises including Microsoft Xbox Live, Shutterfly and even NASA! What better way to show their dedication and support than providing the means to helping us make some noise about our independent production.”

The “SOLO Mars Madness ‘Comment & Win’ Sweepstakes” runs April 12th through May 17th, 2011, only on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watchsolo). Entry to win 1 of 5 Apple TVs is simple: YouTube members must first subscribe to “WatchSOLO”. SOLO Subscribers who “LIKE” and answer the “Comment Question of the Week” for each new episode will be eligible for participation. A winner will be chosen at random from each of the comment sections of episodes 4 through 8 for a total of five (5) potential winners – the winners to be announced on or about May 18th, 2011.

Entry to win the iPad 2 (32GB) “Mars or Bust” Contest is a wee bit more involved. Beginning on May 17th, 2011, subscribers must watch episode 9 and then create a “Video Response” in the comments section of episode 9 in order to enter the contest for the iPad 2. The subject matter of the video is very specific, so entrants must find out at the end of episode 9 on YouTube. All eligible entries will be judged by a select team of judges – so make those videos look good! One (1) potential winner will win an iPad 2 on or about June 21st, 2011. Official rules and instructions may be found at http://watchsolo.com/contests. No purchase necessary to enter or win. Sweepstakes and contest are open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older.

“This is really in honor of our SOLONAUTS – our fans who have made financial contributions to the show,” remarked Mr. Nail. “These die-hard fans of independently produced content donated well over $11,000.00 to help us finish out our first season. We LOVE our Solonauts!”

The producers of SOLO will re-release episodes 1-3 on YouTube beginning April 5th with annotations and updated graphics by Lumen Actus (www.lumenactus.com). Episode 4 of Season 1.5 will launch Tuesday, April 12th – with a new episode dropping every Tuesday, with the last episode airing May 17th.
