March 29, 2011 - PRLog -- Koji Restaurant and nightclub on Temple Street in New Haven, CT near the Yale campus has announced that they are holding a Japan Earthquake relief effort party with all proceeds going to the American Red Cross.

On March 11th 2011 at 2:46 pm a 9.0 magnitude earthquake struck Japan triggering the collapse of many building and homes and also setting off a Tsunami that reaches as far as the Western seaboard of the U.S. The number of casualties continues to rise. More than 21,911 are dead and missing: 10,901 confirmed deaths, 17,649 missing, and 2,644 injured.

...On top of all of this devastation there are still 400,000 people left homeless and misplaced. People were forced to leave the villages and towns that they once called home, in some cases for generations. Many lost their farm land and their cherished belongings. Some families and legacies have been completely wiped out. Now, on top of all this, going through the stress of having to re-locate and try to start over someplace.

This seems like a million miles away, but you can make a difference. Let’s show the wonderful hard working people of Japan that New Haven, CT cares. On April 1st Koji Restaurant and Nightclub New Haven will be holding a charity event they call a celebration of life, love and unity with DJ TOM B. ILL, DJ SOBI ONE and all of the wonderful staff at Koji Restaurant and nightclub New Haven. They will be accepting donations all night and all of it will go to the American Red Cross, Mile High division. This will ensure that all the proceeds go directly to the relief efforts.

Dj TOM B. ILL is teaming up with long time friend and CT house legend DJ SOBI ONE to bring you a night of incredible house, tribal and electro music all night long. "We invite everyone to come join us and buy a round of drinks or a scorpion bowl for Japan" said Dj Tom B. ILL. “They can also just drop something in the box". The New Haven Restaurant isn't stopping there by any means. Professional ESPN Photographer Tony Spinelli has volunteered to capture all the wonderful smiles for the night.

Just think that round of drinks that you don’t drink and donate, could really put a smile on someone’s face.

As a bonus during the month of April Koji Restaurant and Night Club is having a special to celebrate their new executive chef Corey Hudson and their one year anniversary with an all new menu. They will be offering a 3 Course Dinner which includes your appetizer, Entree and Dessert for ONLY $25.00. As an added bonus Hudson says that if you come in with two people for dinner and they will buy you a glass of wine! He added, "This April we would like to thank you ALL for making Koji one of New Haven's most "Sexy" and "Trendy" places in the New Haven."
