Payton’s Play It Forward Foundation And Feed The Children To Help Gulf Coast Families In Need

March 29, 2011 - PRLog -- GRAND BAY, Ala. (March 29, 2011) – On Thursday, March 31, Feed The Children and Tri-Coastal Community Outreach, Inc. of Grand Bay will distribute one semi-tractor-trailer of food and essentials to families in need.  The distribution will take place at 10520 Highway 188 beginning at 9 a.m.

New Orleans Saints Head Coach Sean Payton and his family’s Payton’s Play It Forward Foundation are sponsoring the truck. Payton’s Play It Forward Foundation is sponsoring a total of 18 semi tractor-trailers of food and essentials to help children and families in need throughout Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama this year.

The delivery is also a part of Feed The Children’s Americans Feeding Americans Caravan, which has helped more than 225,000 families across the country since it began in 2009.

Feed The Children partner agency Tri-Coastal Community Outreach, Inc.  has identified the recipient families and will help distribute the boxes. Each family will receive a 25-pound box of food and a 10-pound box of personal care items. The boxes are designed to help a family for up to one week.  

The number of impoverished children in Alabama (266,366) could fill Ladd Peebles Stadium more than six times.

"It is support like this that keeps our trucks rolling across the country to help those affected by the economic downturn.”
