Rick Elias, founding member of “A Ragamuffin Band,” guest artist on “Live From Music City."

Rick is probably best known as a founding member of “A Ragamuffin Band,” formed by the late Rich Mullins in the early ‘90s, performing with Rich until his untimely death in September 1997.  At the request of Rich’s family, estate and record label, Rick assumed the production of Rich’s posthumous release “The Jesus Record,” which went on to win 2 Dove Awards and had two #1 songs, “My Deliverer (sung by Rick) and “Nothing is Beyond You” (sung by Amy Grant).

Rick has released three critically acclaimed solo projects, produced dozens of artists and scored numerous small budget film and television pilots. He co-produced/wrote five songs for the Tom Hanks film,  and subsequent platinum record, “That Thing You Do,” and has a song in the largest grossing independent film to date, “My Big Fat Greek Wedding.”

“Live From Music City” reaches and appeals to singers/musicians who have achieved at least mid-level entry points in their careers. We try to help the artists define the steps they need to take to advance their careers.

We discuss a variety of topics through commentary and with guests to showcase their roles within the performing and recording industry. We also focus on the music business from the perspective of service to the artist, as well as how the artist can achieve the next levels of success.

While we concentrate on the roles of the 'insiders,' we also include recording artists themselves to better understand and explore the relationship between the two."
