March 27, 2011 - PRLog -- Ereader Comparision:I must say that my husband and I saw the e-readers a while back. There are several models to choose from and not every place has every model. After much thinking and looking and pricing we decided upon the Kindle. We purchased the Kindle 3 with Wi-Fi only. The 3G is nice to have but not necessary. There are many available HotSpots, at least where we are at, that come in handy when we want to shop in the Kindle Store. I have a laptop and a Blackberry for everything else and I didnt need my e-Reader doing everything as well. My Kindle is my bookstore/bookshelf and that is what I am happy with. I wanted to be able to take my books everywhere I went. My reading is my passion. I think the text-to-read is the most amazing thing in the world because I can now fall asleep listening to my favorite classics. I am not crazy about the "voice" but its to be expected and its not bothersome.
I love the buttons and how easy it is to navigate through everything. I love how you can stop in a place, power down, power up, pick your book and be right where you left off. The shape and weight of it is so refreshing. There is no strain on my hands while holding it like some of my big, hardcover books that I love to read. I love the different ways you can turn your screen, the font sizes, and spacing of the words. And I love how easy it is to pick our your book, click on the buy button and within seconds...POOF!...there is your book. And I am finding out how to download my music files to it...Brains and talent...its a beautiful thing =o]
I am getting ready to see if certain books, such as those that one would use for college classes, might do. I am active in the medical field and I am hoping I can use this tool as I progress through school, my career and even while still staying on top of the ever changing field. I will have to make sure I come back and let you all know how it does...If anyone does already please comment on my review. I would love to read what has to be said.
A few things that would be helpful:
1.Alphabetizing the books for easier finds. With as many books as I have and still want to get looking for books is a real pain in the neck. It always goes with which book was downloaded last. How in the blazing sun am I supposed to remember where what book is and when I got it? if there is a feature to this please feel free to let me know =o]
2. The prices have got to go lower. There really isnt any reason why one should have to pay hardback prices for a downloaded version. Might as well go and buy the hardback as they do look pretty on a real bookshelf, in my opinion, anyway.
3. The power on/off button seems really fragile to me. I am thinking it could have been made a little bit differently. Maybe to be an actual button that you push in or out. Waiting and counting the 7 seconds to turn it off feels like it puts strain on that little slider.
4. Please come up with more variety of skins and covers. And what is with the prices on those? Good grief. I know this Kindle is a novelty and its going through its honeymoon stage but seriously lets keep the competition on their toes and the customers satisfied. Lets get creative people!
5. Not a big deal but maybe more speakers =o] Other than reading....music is my passion. Doing both at the same time just takes me to a place far, far away and allows everything in reality to go away and into the characters I am reading with a soundtrack to go with it...of my choice. =o]

Even without these little suggestions the Kindle is my book mate. I am enjoying it so much that my focus level has dropped so low my family has to really capture my attention. Sharing? Well, sharing my Kindle is still a hardship for me and so I dont do it. Someday, well, lets just leave that alone for right now. I am thinking in the future that the prices of the Kindle will drop enough and it make a very nice Christmas present for a kid, a husband, a mom...
Am I in the Honeymoon phase? NAH! I just love being able to read in the simple, elegant way that technology has given me =0]
