Snell & Wilmer Partner Barb Dawson Among "2011 Women In Business" Honorees

For the last 10 years, the Phoenix Business Journal has consistently recognized the contributions of women to the business community. The celebratory awards program, which was held on March 22 at the Arizona Biltmore Resort, recognized this year's 25 outstanding Women in Business. The honorees were selected by peers, colleagues and the Phoenix Business Journal news team for their leadership, professionalism, dedication and impact on our community.

The Phoenix Business Journal stated, “Dawson spent 2010 as chairwoman of Lex Mundi, an association of 160 independent law firms in 100 countries. Snell & Wilmer is the Arizona member of the alliance. Dawson’s practice is focused on complex business litigation and internal investigations. Her areas of focus in commercial litigation include class actions, consumer claims and business torts, tax disputes and matters involving international issues and non-U.S. parties. In conjunction with her internal investigation work for publicly traded companies, she has experience with issues related to officer and director liability, derivative and securities claims, SEC and other regulatory inquiries and corporate governance and compliance programs.

Dawson is a co-chair of the firm's Commercial Litigation Practice Group and is a primary contact for the firm's Financial Crisis and Recovery Team, International Group and State and Local Tax Practice Group. She has also served as Judge Pro Tempore and mediator for the Maricopa County Superior Court.
