Award Winning Eco TRV - World’s First Independent Online Sales

The first winning point for the next generation product was eliminating perhaps the biggest problem for the older style motorised radiator valve - unpleasantly noisy motors:

“While everyone likes the idea of saving money and energy at the same time, the trouble was that some of the older style thermostatic radiator valve manufacturers just hadn’t got the formula right. Noise could be an issue, whereas with the new eTRV, the manufacturers conducted independent tests into sound reduction. They say it is much harder to hear the actual motor because the specification is higher, there is better engineering of the gears inside.”

Another problem the new wireless radiator valve solved was temperature detection. Sensors were supposed to detect when the room temperature called for an adjustment in the radiator temperature, saving money on heating bills. Edwin explained things weren’t always as straightforward:

“What’s exciting about the new eTRV is that some systems only used one sensor on the valve motor. In reality this could be affected by whether they were placed horizontally or vertically, whether the valve was open or closed and so on. This new model has two sensors, so the result is a far more accurate reading. The top sensor reads the air temperature inside the room. The other sensor monitors the temperature close to the radiator flow pipe. Between the readings, the system than calculates a temperature offset, so your radiator is regulated to match real life conditions much more closely. I’m always on the lookout for products that save energy and money and work for busy lifestyles. The convenience factor was the final plus factor for me, it just had to go into the My Greener Home product range.  With this particular programmable radiator valve, anyone can easily set different heating cycles for different days, and even have three different cycles in one day.
