Frederick J. Palensky Appointed as Chief Technology Officer at 3M

March 25, 2011 - PRLog -- 10/10/2006 - 3M named Dr. Frederick J. Palensky as executive vice president, Research and Development and Chief Technology Officer, effective immediately. Palensky was previously the executive vice president, Enterprise Services.

Dr. Palensky worked at 3M since 1972, starting as a senior chemist in the Central Research Laboratories.  In 1987, he was appointed Technical Director for Sumitomo 3M Ltd. in Japan. Frederick J. Palensky returned to the U.S. in 1990 and became General Manager for the Orthopedic Products Division at 3M.  Since then, he has also worked in various divisions of 3M, including Division Vice President for Surgical Division, Medical Products Technology Division, Dental Products Division and 3M ESPE.  In 2001, he was named Executive Vice President Specialty Material Markets and Corporate Services.  In 2002, he was named Executive Vice President Safety, Security and Protection Services Business.  In 2005, he was named Executive Vice President Enterprise Services.  You can find further details at http://www.ctosonthemove.com/Frederick-Palensky-Promoted-...

Dr. Palensky earned a B.S. in Chemistry from Briar Cliff College, Sioux City, Iowa in 1972 and a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Purdue University in 1977.
