Daler Mehndi goes ‘Beyond the Hour’ on ‘Earth Hour’ Day

PRLog (Press Release) - Mar. 25, 2011 - Supporting the Earth Hour on March 26, 2011, environmentalist Daler Mehndi with his team intends to make the campaign stronger.  In keeping with Earth Hour’s 2011 theme of “beyond the hour”, Mehndi and his team at DM Green Drive will switch-off lights for two hours instead of one.
Mehndi has always been environment cautious; he just doesn’t sit and complain about the rising environmental challenges but acts towards its solution. Daler Mehndi advocates pure and clean living both within the environment and within the soul. In an effort to keep Delhi clean, ‘Daler Mehndi Green Drive’ was started by the singer cum philanthropist in the year 1998. The DM Green Drive has planted 12 lakh saplings around Delhi, and over 250 schools in Delhi have joined him in this noble cause. Recently under his Green Drive, he promised to donate 10,000 trees free of cost for plantation to the government bodies at "Hindon Mohotsav".
Expressing his commitment for Earth Hour 2011, Mehndi stated “Each and every individual effort plays a significant role for the cause of Greener earth, and a simple step as switching off lights for an hour can make a huge difference. It is the time to come together once again and demonstrate our commitment towards a sustainable future of our planet.”
