MetroPCS Dallas White Rock Marathon to Present More Than Half a Million Dollars to TSRHC

Cumulative donation by Dallas White Rock Marathon to TSRHC totals more than $1.8 million.

March 24, 2011 - PRLog -- Dallas White Rock Marathon board members and sponsors will present Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children (TSRHC) with a record donation of $560,000 from the 2010 marathon, half marathon and relays (including funds raised through Active.com online giving program). Since 1997, the hospital has been the primary beneficiary of the Dallas White Rock Marathon.

The Honorable Lyndon L. Olson, Jr., former TSRHC patient and chairman of the hospital’s board of trustees, will speak. TSRHC patient families, including the top fundraisers for the 2010 race, will attend and help present the check to the hospital.

Voted the top marathon and half marathon in the state by Competitor Texas magazine, the MetroPCS Dallas White Rock Marathon features a start/finish in Fair Park, a scenic course that includes a flat and fast 10-mile loop around White Rock Lake, and is a qualifying event for the Boston Marathon. The primary beneficiary of weekend events is Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.
