Young entrepreneurs bring 21st century fitness

New fitness facility in Westfield caters to those with an on-the-go lifestyle

March 24, 2011 - PRLog -- Let’s face it. When we want something, we want it now. Technology has transformed our lifestyles and put everything at our fingertips. Convenience is no longer a desire, it’s a demand.

Two local entrepreneurs understand that concept. As Generation Y-ers and new members of the Westfield business district, these long-time friends are becoming a part of a recession-resilient franchise that has opened 1,000 clubs in a mere four years. Together, they hope to change the way Western Massachusetts residents incorporate wellness into their daily lives. In April 2011, Alex Lalos and Marcus “Mr. Fitness” Austin are bringing Anytime Fitness to the city of Westfield.

Anytime Fitness Westfield is the facility for the 21st century gym-goer. It carries state-of-the-art Lifefitness Cardio Inspire Series equipment which includes touch screen technology, iPod and iPhone capability, USB connectivity for tracking progress, a virtual trainer and 17" TV’s wired with Comcast Cable for the ultimate entertaining experience.

It’s the world’s largest 24-hour fitness club open 7 days a week. It is crafted to fit the busy, on-the-go lifestyle. Members access the club by using their very own key. They can use the facility any day, any time. They determine what’s convenient.

“Our goal is to facilitate a strong relationship with the citizens within our community while helping them achieve the best health, wellness and longevity,” Lalos said. The store, located at 415 East Main Street, is currently under construction.

What separates Anytime Fitness from other standard fitness facilities is their use of proprietary access software, security and surveillance technology. The integration of these systems allows owners to operate safe and secure clubs with greatly reduced staffing needs. The exclusive Anytime Fitness access system allows a club to be open on a 24-hour basis. This system, which includes remote monitoring of a closed circuit television system and personal safety devices, allows members to feel safe and secure, even when a club is not staffed.

Members are treated to cutting-edge equipment and top-notch personal trainers overseen by Austin. He has been a staple in the Western Mass. health and fitness arena for many years. With a dedicated client-base and specialties in physique enhancement and performance nutrition, Austin is excited to bring his expertise to the city.

“Anytime Fitness Westfield will be the place to workout and get great personal training for great people of all fitness levels,” Austin said.
