Ministry of Culture (Govt. of India) & LPU organizing collaboratively Week- Long 'Theatre Fest-2011'

With a mission to preserve, promote and disseminate all forms of art and culture, the Ministry of Culture (Govt. of India) has joined hands with Lovely Professional University in organizing Week- Long 'Theatre Festival-2011.'

March 24, 2011 - PRLog -- With a mission to preserve, promote and disseminate all forms of art and culture, the Ministry of Culture (Govt. of India) has joined hands with Lovely Professional University in organizing Week- Long 'Theatre Festival-2011.' It is with the help of North Zone Cultural Centre (NZCC) Patiala. Under inauguration with a motivating play 'Mind Games' from Jammu Region, six National level eminent directors from the north zone, with six superb plays, will continue mesmerizing the audience of the University at Shri Baldev Raj Mittal Auditorium till 27th of March( the World Theatre Day).
It is worth noticing that the functional spectrum of the Ministry of Culture ranges from creating cultural awareness from the grass root level to the international cultural exchange level. And, the North Zone Cultural Center is one of the seven cultural centers `established in the country to strengthen the ancient roots of Indian Culture and evolve and enrich composite National Culture.  It comprises regions from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Uttrakhand, Rajasthan & Chandigarh (U.T.)

For this occasion,The Director of NZCC, Mr DS Saroya  has conveyed: " Our these six theatrical presentations, ' Mind Games', 'Gaj Foot Inch', 'Aur Ek Sacch', 'MoteRam ka Satyagraha', Gaddi Charan Di Kaahal Bari Si' and ' Raunkan' will certainly create a new dimension in the Theatre Festival. Typical of the human mentality, the plays are basically with truly universal techniques. With participation from various regions, the event will reveal a happy unison of ideas and style. Apart from performances, it is superb on different aspect of dramatics also."  

Pulsing positive artistic environment facilitating free flow of imagination, the Pro-Chancellor of the University, Ms Rashmi Mittal said: "In fact it is an extravaganza of theatrical performances by drama groups of the Zone. Learning from them, our talented students will also acquire one day an indelible space in the cultural scene, as in future, it is going to be a trusted platform for the artistic expression and exchange of creative ideas among talented theatre aspirants.  
                                                                                                                                           
On the outcome of the first performance of the 'Week', the Programme Officer NZCC, Mr Ravinder Sharma, Anchor Mr Sanjeev Shaad and Director Sumit Sharma praised the fit audience of the fully packed auditorium for their devoted attention and applaud to each and every bit of the performance.
