Follow on Google News | Vecna Medical launches QC PathFinder™ version 6.0Vecna Medical, developer of the industry leading infection control software QC PathFinder, launched version 6.0 this month with enhanced NHSN reporting and pharmacy capabilities.
By: Vecna Medical Version 6.0 meets the latest NHSN reporting requirements for hospital–acquired infections (HAIs), lab–identified multi–drug resistant organisms (LABID MDROs), and central line insertion practices (CLIP). As of January 2011, all acute care hospitals are required to submit HAI data to NHSN in order to receive reimbursements from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Users can significantly reduce the amount of time spent doing data entry by using the NHSN reporting functionality in QC PathFinder. In addition, Version 6.0 comes with a brand new pharmacy module aimed to assist antimicrobial stewardship programs at hospitals. The new module can monitor drug resistance trends and alert infection preventionists and pharmacists of emerging threats. In addition, users can track, document, and analyze pharmacy interventions right in the application. Version 6.0 provides visibility into the use of expensive and restricted antibiotics and enables real–time interventions such as change of therapy, drug discontinuation, and IV to PO switch. Users will also have extreme flexibility to query QC PathFinder's database and create aggregate and drill–down reports instantaneously. Ron Urwongse, QC PathFinder Product Manager, said, "We are always looking to improve the value of our product to our customers. Version 6.0 further addresses our customers' needs for more comprehensive NHSN reporting capabilities and a cutting edge solution to support antimicrobial stewardship programs." Vecna Medical will be demonstrating QC PathFinder Version 6.0 at the SHEA 2011 Annual Scientific Meeting in April 2011 at booth #302. # # # Vecna Medical is the driving force in innovative healthcare IT, leading the industry in patient self-service solutions and electronic infection surveillance solutions.
