Bay View Junior Nets Voice of Democracy Scholarship Cranston’s Johanna Dombrowski RI Winner

March 23, 2011 - PRLog -- The Veterans of Foreign Wars recently announced the winners of the 2010-2011 Voice of Democracy audio-essay competition. This year's theme was "Does My Generation Have a Role in America's Future?" The State of Rhode Island winner is Johanna Dombrowski, junior of Bay View Academy. Johanna produced a provocative audio essay which garnered her $1,000 Department of Alabama and the $1,000 Department of Georgia James H. "Sloppy" Floyd Memorial Scholarship Awards. Johanna is from Cranston, plans a career in politics and she was sponsored by VFW Post 2812 and Ladies Auxiliary of the Kelly Gazzero post in Cranston, Rhode Island.

Bay View Principal Colleen Gribbin noted, "Johanna is a remarkable student. She was one of  50 recipients nationwide and that speaks volumes about the quality of her thought provoking audio - essay. Johanna's achievement is distinctive and indeed makes the entire Bay View community very proud."
