School music festivals coming to Eureka Springs

Youngsters entertain at the debut of the musical festival

March 22, 2011 - PRLog -- EUREKA SPRINGS, AR) - Eureka Springs will be the site of music festivals for high school bands, and middle school bands, orchestras and choirs April 30 and May 15, 2011.  Next year’s festivals will be held the weekend of April 27-29, and the weekend of May 11-13.
           
Eureka Music Festivals, a company founded and owned by Gina Smith, will organize the events. The company arranges “ready to go” tours for the school groups “including everything except conducting the concert and doing bed checks!”
         
This year’s festival includes 17 groups, including students from Rogers, Decatur, Charleston and Pea Ridge, AR, and Springfield, MO.
           
Musicians from Rogers include Kirksey Middle School choir, band and orchestra; Oakdale Middle School choir and band; Lingle Middle School choir, band and orchestra; Elmwood Middle School choir, and band; and Rogers High School/Heritage High School combined orchestra.
         
Pea Ridge musicians include Pea Ridge High School choir and band.
           
Charleston will be represented by the Charleston Middle School band, and Decatur will be represented by its high school band.
         
Hillcrest High School Orchestra, from Springfield, MO, will also perform.
