March 22, 2011 - PRLog -- Cultural injustice, Warhol’s legacy and Adversity- Radical writer Corey Hamilton pulls out both barrels in new Collection
Edmonton, AB- No one can say that poet/photographer/painter Corey Hamilton doesn’t tell it like it is. In his latest Collection of poetry titled 2 Days he addresses dark subject matters like self harm, the stark reality of depression, call girls and the everyday balance between financial failure and security.

True, these subjects have been written about by others, but not in the spare and candid style that clearly belongs to Corey. A prolific writer and painter he also dominates the Youtube site with his short poetry videos and visual work.

“With this new collection I wanted to examine and talk about what really makes people tick. Ask those questions that no one really wants to hear and get those emotions down as starkly and as strongly as I could to let people know that they aren’t alone in their struggles,” says Hamilton, a native of Winnipeg but was raised in Sherwood Park.

Author of Waiting for Columbus, Thomas Trofimuk had this to say about Corey’s new work, ““Corey Hamilton is the careful observer, the even-handed visionary who seeks out the truth no matter where it takes him. He ventures into the darkness with such an astounding courage…He is always writing, always seeing with a poet’s eyes and heart, always looking for a way to peel back another layer of this big wonderful onion called life.”

Corey Hamilton will be launching his new book 2 Days Wednesday March 30 at 7:00pm at Greenwoods Book Store (7924-104 street)  in Old Strathcona.  He will be accompanied by members of the Raving Poets Band.
