System implemented for eco-conscious PMA

In an age when we all have to consider the environmental implications of how we travel, what we buy and the products we use, PMA are removing the headache for engineers and planners by certifying their range as entirely safe to use and eco-friendly.

March 22, 2011 - PRLog -- Under the EU REACH (Registration, Evaluation and Authorisation of CHemicals) directive, PMA confirms that none of its products, neither those manufactured from plastics, nor those produced with metals, are required to be registered. Asbestos free and with no concerning or hazardous substances contained in any of the company’s range, PMA’s products are non-toxic and safe for use in any environment.

The company knows, however, that in many cases where materials contain no contaminants or toxicity, products are often still manufactured using processes which can cause a negative impact to the environment. However, the Swiss company takes a good deal of consideration over the development of each of the company’s systems and components so as not to detract from their eco-friendly ethos.

PMA’s Quality Manager, Peter Schuster, says: “Taking care of the environment is a fundamental element of PMA’s business policy. We take all possible steps to ensure that our products and the processes involved in manufacturing and distributing them do not impact the environment and comply with all relevant legal requirements. The raw materials used in our injection moulding and extrusion processes are ecologically harmless.”

In an effort to guarantee their promise, an Environmental Management System according to ISO 14001 has been implemented and is maintained as part of PMA's Integrated Management System. In addition, the company ensures the continuous monitoring of environmental issues with the objective of consistent improvement concerning the environmental impact of their activities, products and services.*

*Although the cable protection manufacturer has not sought independent certification of this module to date, the company readily invites its customers to audit their processes and efforts regarding quality, environmental and operational safety.
