IBS Mumbai organized its 4th consecutive Student Event for Promotion and Media series - IT LAN – Counter Strike game at Nagpur on 14th March, 2011 for undergraduate students.

PRLog (Press Release) - Mar. 22, 2011 - IBS Mumbai organized its 4th consecutive Student Event for Promotion and Media series - IT LAN – Counter Strike game at Nagpur on 14th March, 2011 for undergraduate students.

The event saw an extremely good response where students from Nagpur, Wardha & Amravati colleges participated in the Event.

A total of 18 teams were allowed to participate out of 40 teams who indicated their desire to participate and reported on tournament venue. Each teams (clans) having  5 members, adding  to around 90 students participated with double the students present to cheer the teams. The schedule planned time was 2pm but the registration had to start an hour early due to an excellent and enthusiastic student response and the game went on till 5 am on 15th March, 2011 morning.

Students from Raisoni College, Hislop College (Amravati) , SFS College, Ambedkar College, Ram Meghe Badnera College, G. P. College, N. Y. S. S. College, Dutta Meghe, D. P. Science College, C. A. D College, K. D. K College, P. I. T College, D. N. C. College, J. I. T Engg College participated in the IT event.

First winner – Raisoni College from Nagpur won the prize money of Rs. 7000.00 & Hislop college of Amravati was the runners-up who bagged the prize money of Rs. 3000.00

The teams coming from Amravati and Wardha were constantly in touch with the organizers, since they were coming from out station and were concerned about being disqualified for not being the first 15 teams. The registrations were on first cum first serve basis.

The event was conducted in a cyber café called BARCODE in Subhash Nagar Area of Nagpur closer to majority of colleges in North Nagpur. Normally Cyber Café charges a registration fee of Rs. 250./- per team but that was waived of for that day as it was borne by IBS Mumbai , who was the host Institute. This also triggered better participation.

The tournament instructor was Ben Varghese- ATE INDIA Team – India’s Leading Counter Striker.

Event was coordinated by Prof.(Dr.) Pritee Saxena along with Student coordinators Rahul Ahuja and Sunil Gala of Batch 2012.
