•   Internet & Social Media Marketing
•   FEATURED:  A top executive from Ingram/Lightning Source will discuss the opening of their new Print On Demand facility and how it will assist Australian authors.

Having the opportunity to utilize Print on Demand and the increasing popularity of E Books and the wider availability of Foreign Rights Sales is going to be the biggest change in how books are published and marketed in Australia since the invention of the printing press!

This conference offers you the opportunity to learn more about these innovative opportunities and will provide you with practical and tactical information you can use to further your writing career.

Topics covered will include:

   POD (Print on Demand/Publish on Demand for E Books and/or Print Books)

   How to Generate Major TV, Radio, Print and Online publicity even if you have a small or “no” pr budget

   Techniques to maximize the money you generate from your creativity

   Networking opportunities throughout the day (arrive by 9:30 and network until 10; networking breaks and an optional 3-4 PM networking social event at the end)

Presentations:

Ingram/Lightning Source. Print on Demand & Global Distribution: One of the biggest subjects that impacts writers is the new Ingram / Lightning Source Print on Demand printing facility that has just recently become available in Australia.  Once your book(s) is in the Ingram/LSI system, it is also automatically available around the world.  We will show you how easy  and cost effective it is to get into their system.

EBooks Worldwide: Learn how your book(s) can be available via ebook (iPad, Kindle, Nook, Google Editions etc.)  And become available on those platforms immediately.

Foreign Rights Sales: Learn how to reach foreign markets.  Jan Yager, Ph.D. has been selling international rights since she was the 24-year old head of foreign rights for Grove Press Inc. Over the years, dealing directly with publishers or through her active network of foreign co-agents, Jan has sold books into 28 languages as well as English re-print rights. (She’s sold the foreign rights to just one book 30 times and in 25 languages!) Jan regularly exhibits or attends major international book fairs on behalf of her publisher, agent, or author clients including the Frankfurt Book Fair, the London Book Fair, and the Taiwan Book Fair. In 2008, for her own book published by Finch Publishing in Australia, Jan did an author tour of Australia and New Zealand.

How Much is the Conference?  Early sign up fee is just $129 if you sign up by the 30th May 2011.  After that registration is $149.
