PRLog - Mar. 18, 2011 - A South Carolina-based distributor of electric vehicles is helping the bluegrass state go a little more green. With gas prices approaching $4/gallon and environmental concerns top of mind with state and local government officials, EVA-Brooking is bringing its fleet of electric vehicles to Kentucky’s public service agencies in an effort to help cut costs and reduce emissions.

Early next week, four of the company’s electric vehicles will arrive at L&W Emergency Equipment in Lawrenceburg, EVA-Brooking’s first dealer in the state and second in the U.S. EVA-Brooking will host a demonstration of the cars at the University of Kentucky’s Commonwealth Stadium from 9 a.m. to noon on March 23 for organizations or media interested in learning more or taking a test drive. The demonstration will be in the blue overflow lot off Alumni Drive at the stadium.
Officials from a variety of local public service agencies will be at the demonstration, including the Captain Kevin Franklin of the University of Kentucky Police and members of the Transylvania University Campus Safety.

EVA-Brooking is a Charleston-based company that is establishing the only professional sales and service network in the U.S. of electric vehicles for public service agencies. The company serves as a distribution channel between the manufacturer and the dealer, providing police, fire, safety and security firms with vehicles designed for a range of uses from mall security, university campus patrol, emergency transport, police patrol, etc.

"Rich in coal and blessed by a skilled workforce, Kentucky can gain in clean tech jobs in the manufacturing and assembly sectors. We are committed to presenting electric solutions to the criminal justice and public service sectors for those agencies seeking green, cost-effective innovation."
