Provident Bank Charitable Foundation Announces Appointment of Chair of Corporate Responsibility

March 17, 2011 - PRLog -- MONTEBELLO, NY -- The Provident Bank Charitable Foundation has announced that Keith T. Darcy, Executive Director of the Ethics & Compliance Officer Association, has been named the Provident Bank Charitable Foundation Chair of Corporate Responsibility at St. Thomas Aquinas College for the Spring 2011 semester.

The Chair was established by the College last Fall with a $250,000 grant from the Provident Bank Charitable Foundation. The purpose of the Chair is to provide a scholarly perspective on the issue of ethics and social responsibilities facing the business community regionally, nationally and globally.

Mr. Darcy has a combined 30-year career in the financial services industry as an educator with long-term involvement in business ethics, corporate governance and organizational leadership. He currently serves as Chairman of the Ethics & Compliance Officer Association Foundation. He also serves as Chairman of the Board of the Better Business Bureau Foundation, which supports the Better Business Bureau of New York, where he chairs the Audit Committee.  

Since 1994, Mr. Darcy has taught Ethics and Leadership in the Executive Programs at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He is also Executive-in-Residence at Manhattanville College in Purchase, where he serves as Executive Director of the Center for Business Ethics. He holds a BS degree from Fordham University’s College of Business and an MBA from the Hagan Graduate School of Business at Iona College in New Rochelle.

Mr. Darcy was  selected by a committee comprised of  Gerald Filandro, Senior Vice President, Compliance and Ethics Officer, Provident Bank; Dr. John Durney, Provost, St. Thomas Aquinas College; Michael Murphy, Chair, Division of Business Administration, St. Thomas Aquinas College; and Barbara Donn, Professor of Accounting, Former Chair, Division of Business Administration, St. Thomas Aquinas College.
