Vineyards by the Viaduct On Tap May 14

Nicholson, PA—March 10, 2011—Tickets for the Nicholson Fire Company’s “Vineyards by the Viaduct” wine festival are now on sale and can be purchased at the Nicholson Diner, Lochen and Chase, CPA in Tunkhannock and Nicholson, as well as all locations of People’s Neighborhood Bank.   Taking place on Saturday, May 14th, from 11AM until 5PM, at the Nicholson Carnival Grounds, all proceeds from this event will benefit the Nicholson Fire Department.
Six Pennsylvania wineries have been confirmed for the event.  “We are awaiting word from a few others, but we already have commitment from many of the area’s best,” said fire company member, Rick Lochen. Attendees will be able to enjoy samplings from Nimble Hill, Antler Ridge, Bartolai, Grovedale, Pavlick Hill and Maiolatesi Wine Cellars.  Arts, crafts, and other vendors will also be part of the festivities.  “You can expect great food specialties at a variety of stands, the Fire Company will be serving our famous roast beef sandwiches and potato pancakes,” Lochen explained.  
“Vineyards by the Viaduct” hosts a variety of highlights including balloon tethering with Endless Mountains Hot Air Balloons.  Kevin Treat, the Sawptician will be creating a carved wood statue on site, and live musical entertainment from bands such as Midnight Sons.  People’s Neighborhood Bank, Southwestern Energy and Rosenn, Jenkins, and Greenwald are sponsoring the event.  Presale tickets are just $15. The first 1300 people receive a commemorative wine glass. The Nicholson Carnival Grounds are located just off Route 92 in Nicholson.

The Nicholson Fire Company is a non-profit, volunteer organization serving the residents of Nicholson Borough, Nicholson Township, parts of Lathrop Township, Lenox Township and the surrounding area. The Nicholson Fire Company holds fundraising events through out the year.
