President of Virginia Basement Company Nominated for ATHENA Award

Each year for the past six years, the Lynchburg Chamber of Commerce hosts the Women of Worth Luncheon and honors one special woman with the ATHENA Award. This year, Shauna Parsons, the president of Evergreen Basement Systems, is one of 12 nominees.

March 16, 2011 - PRLog -- Appomattox, PA – The Lynchburg Chamber of Commerce and the Centra Foundation are hosting the 6th Annual Women of Worth Luncheon to recognize professionals throughout the region and acknowledges the nominees for the ATHENA Award. This year, Shauna Parsons of Evergreen Basement Systems, is one of the 12 nominees for the award.

Each year for the past six years, the Women of Worth Luncheon pays tribute to the hardworking women of the region. The event is being held at the Kirkley Hotel and Conference Center at 2900 Candlers Mountain Road on Friday, March 25, 2011 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. The event will include door prizes, networking, the announcement of the 2011 ATHENA Award recipient, and advice from a carefully chosen panel of leaders.

The panel features Sarah Burnette, president of MontVue Capital; Sampada Desai, Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Yoga Teacher; Judge Dale Harris, retired; and Muriel Mickles, Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences, CVCC.

Shauna Parsons, one of the twelve nominees for the ATHENA Award, is the president of Evergreen Basement Systems—quite the treat for a young lady raised around the construction industry. Over the years she followed her father’s footsteps and eventually took over his business.
