Etiquette School for Boehner’s Aide– With Your Tax Dollars

March 16, 2011 - PRLog -- To properly host foreign dignitaries regularly facilitated by Speaker of the House John Boehner, appointed aides must exercise proper etiquette and protocol when dealing with top level foreign leaders.  Public records revealed the office of then- Republican Leader Boehner used $5800 of tax dollars for an aide to attend “Protocol Officer Training,” a five day course to be given this spring at the Protocol School of Washington.  Though specifics are undisclosed, the course will provide information on cultural awareness leadership and how to seat officials at events.  This course, offered to those new to dealing with world leaders, is also used to train officials of the FBI and CIA, and employees of federal government offices and major companies.  Protocol School of Washington President and Director Pamela Eyring justifies the idea, claiming this level of training reduces possible embarrassment during interactions with high caliber officials.  Former Speaker Nancy Pelosi used two aides during her term who received the same level of training; however, public funding remained untouched.   Should government officials be allowed to use tax funding without approval?  Is it important for U.S. citizens to devote tax spending on etiquette courses?
