Persimmon goes the extra mile for Hogweed Trotters Running Club

A Bristol-based housebuilder has pledged its sponsorship support to the Hogweed Trotters Road Running Club after learning about its marathon fundraising drive.

March 16, 2011 - PRLog -- Persimmon Homes Severn Valley, based in Yate, Bristol, has donated £350 to the Club which will be used to fund the donation of t-shirts to everyone who finishes this year’s Hogweed Hilly Half Marathon, taking place on Sunday 20th March.

This is the seventh year of this classic half-marathon road race in which runners will cover 13.1 miles across some of the most stunning scenery in South Gloucestershire, starting and ending at Horton Village Hall.

Nicola Rushton, Hogweed Trotters’ coach and entry secretary for the event, said: “We would like to extend our thanks to everyone at Persimmon for their kind donation. As a small running club, we rely heavily on the support of local business and Persimmon’s funding will make a real difference.”

The half marathon starts at 10.30am.  The race limit is 350 entries. Entry costs £14 for affiliated club runners or £16 for unattached runners, or £15 and £17 respectively to register on the day. To register, or learn more about the Club, visit www.hogweedtrotters.co.uk
