Every once in a while, something comes along that shines a light into very dark corners.  And Elspeth Liberty’s self-published book, Ritual Abuse and Other Acts of Love, is just such a beacon.

In an act of enormous bravery and courage, she has opened up her life and written with honesty and candour of her own experiences of physical, sexual, psychological and spiritual abuse.

This is not a light-hearted read for a lazy Sunday afternoon.  It frightens, appals but, ultimately, moves you and leaves you with a deeper understanding of the incredible journeys many of us take, often alone and in despair.

Elspeth’s hope is her book will offer company and understanding to those on the lonely journey of healing.  Her mission is to reach a wider audience on this subject and she is dedicated to sharing her journey with those who are willing to read or listen.

She lives on the North West Coast of Tasmania, where she has built a happy and productive life.  Of her experiences, Elspeth writes:
