P3 Sports Care Sends Active Release Chiropractor To Be Part Of Medical Team Again In 2011

March 17, 2011 - PRLog -- HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA 02/9/11– This past weekend the weather was perfect for the 15th annual Huntington Beach Surf City marathon. There was a full marathon course that consisted of 26.2 miles, a half marathon course which was 13.1 miles, and Free Wheel Chair Mission which raised focused on raising money for the community. The sky was clear, the air was crisp and cool…it was the ideal day for a run. All 50 states participated in the race as well as 18 countries; the total turn out for the race was over 20,000 runners. Spectators came from far and wide to watch the different event; there were over 30,000 in the crowd cheering their loved ones on as they ran the course.



This is the second year for Dr. Sebastian Gonzales DC CSCS to be chosen as one of the elite medical volunteers that assisted the runners at the finish line. Working with Dr. Sebastian at the finish line were multiple medical personnel that consisted of medical doctors, nurses, emergency medical technicians, and physical therapists. When I asked Dr. Gonzales about what he thought about the race he said, “working the finish line tent has been a great experience for me, I not only get to help these athletes after they cross the finish line with Active Release Technique®, but I get to cheer them on as they reach their goal after all their hard work and training for this event” He also went on to say, “I love being out here in the community helping anyway I can, this is a very good opportunity for me to teach and educate athletes on ways to prevent injuries when they train for future races, I’m lucky I was asked to be here.”

Dr. Sebastian Gonzales is a graduate of California State University, Long Beach and received his doctorate from Southern California University of Health Sciences.  He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist for the NSCA, a certified medical provider for the Titleist Performance Institute (TPI) and a USA Track & Field Level 1 Coach.  He has been an Active Release provider for more than five years and began his passion for working with athletes when he was saved from a back surgery by another ART® when he was in high school.  Dr. Gonzales practices in Huntington Beach, California at P3 Sports Care, but loves to travel to other areas of the country to treat racers at Ironman®. http://www.P3SportsCare.com
