March 15, 2011 - PRLog -- March 15, 2011 — Cross-Cultural Solutions (CCS) has launched a 2011 Video Contest: My Take on the CCS Experience for former volunteers to share their perspectives on volunteering abroad.

CCS is asking all of their alumni to show what volunteering abroad has meant to them and, in turn, inspire a new wave of international volunteers. Each alumnus can submit one video, up to five minutes long, that showcases their perspective on their volunteer experience, reflections on the country and culture where they volunteered, etc. Videos can be compiled of footage or photos from a CCS program, personal reflections, “show-and-tell” descriptions, and more. Alumni are encouraged to share their stories in unique, creative, and engaging ways.

Video submissions will be collected on Facebook through April 24th, 2011. Then, the public will have one week to vote for their favorite videos and determine the top finalists from Monday, April 25th until Sunday, May 1st. A panel of judges at CCS will then choose the winners, to be announced on Monday, May 9th.

The first place winner will receive a one-week volunteer program in Latin America; second place will receive a $500 voucher toward a CCS volunteer program; and third place will receive a $250 voucher toward a CCS volunteer program. All contest finalists will receive a one-year online subscription to Verge magazine.
