Mick Ray, logistics tutor at Distance Learning College & Training said, “We work with hundreds of companies across the UK providing professional learning and development for their staff but Kwik Fit continuously set themselves over and above the rest in terms of their dedication to offering their staff the opportunity to develop. They have not just funded the qualifications for staff but provided them with the additional support and opportunities to ensure that they achieve the best they can through classroom training sessions during work hours along with studying in their own time, this has resulted in a dedicated group of students who have submitted work regularly and to a very high standard”. The award was presented to Neil Arnott, Head of Supply Chain for Kwik Fit, who accepted the award on behalf of the company and is also responsible for the staff who study with Distance Learning College & Training. On receiving the award Neil said, “The execution of the supply chain is fundamental to how Kwik-Fit maintains competitive advantage and therefore it is important that as well as investing in systems, processes and assets, we also invest in our people. The outcome is that the team have been able to learn and apply supply chain theory which allied to their experience, has resulted in the development of best practices for the business.” End
