Interlan Charitable Foundation of Nevada, as part of its growing commitment to the region it calls home, is launching a holiday nonperishable food drive for canned and dry goods to benefit Three Square Food Bank (TSFB). TSFB serves as the Las Vegas Valley’s food hub by offering a central location where donated and rescued food can be collected and distributed to non-profit and faith-based organizations. TSFB also facilitates childhood and senior nutrition programs. This important work is made possible by affording the Southern Nevada community with a place to meet, serve and collaborate as part of the food solution.
“We believe there is a solution to hunger,” said Julie Murray, president and CEO of the nonprofit, who in late 2007 co-founded Three Square in her living room with Eric Hilton and Punam Mathur, current board chairwoman. According to Murray, “Last year we distributed 17 million pounds of food, which is 13 million meals, and this year we’ve already exceeded our goal of distributing 20 million pounds of food, which would be 17 million meals.” Since its founding, the TSFB has been recognized as “The Best Volunteer Organization”
In partnering with Three Square, the Interlan Charitable Foundation, in collaboration with Interlan Financial Corporation, is striving to help address urgent needs in the Las Vegas Valley and Henderson communities our employees call home.
