March 14, 2011 - PRLog -- Losing a pet is a sad time, and everyone has different ways of coping with their grief.
Sharing your sadness with people who care and understand, and remembering the happy times you enjoyed with your pet, are two of the most effective ways of coming to terms with the loss.
Website http://www.lostandfond.co.uk can help meet both those challenges.
Lost & Fond allows you to create a free online tribute to your pet whether the loss was recent or years ago. You can then return as often as you want to edit the words you wrote or add more pictures and memories.
Lost & Fond’s creator Elaine Pritchard explained: “It’s an easy way of sharing those precious memories we all have of pets we loved in our childhood and more recently.
“A lot of people also want to do something positive for others as a way of paying tribute to their own pets, so although it’s free to use Lost & Fond  I do encourage those who can afford it to make a donation to our nominated charity. “
Advertising revenue the site makes will also enable Lost & Fond to make its own charitable donation.
Donations raised during Lost & Fond’s  first 12 months – since its launch in August 2010 –  will go to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. Lost & Fond is now asking visitors to the site to choose the charity which will be supported for 12 months from August 2011. Nominations of any charity which helps pets and pet owners can be made between now and April 30, 2011. All charities nominated will be listed on Lost & Fond.
