March 13, 2011 - PRLog -- Of course when I say fencing everyone thinks of either wood or chain-link fencing. Both of these are good options, but they can be costly. Here are a couple other options available to dog owners:

In-Ground Fencing - This option has a wire that is buried around the perimeter of your property.  It sends out a radio signal along the wire, that when used with the system collar it emits a warning signal.  After a little bit of training your dog will learn its perimeter.  This option has an approximate range of 5 acres.  The original brand was Invisible Fence, and now there are other brands available, like Innotek, UltraSmart & PetSafe.

Instant Fencing - This is the quickest set-up option available.  The transmitter that emits a radio signal 180 feet in diameter.  Simply plug the transmitter into an interior outlet, place the waterproof collar on your dog and it is instantly working.  This option is made by PetSafe.

Both of these invisible fencing options work better than the traditional style fence because a dog can't dig under them or climb over them.  The only thing that they can't do is keep other dogs off of your property.  They can also be used in-conjunction with a traditional fence.  The most important thing is to keep your dog contained and safe.  Please think about these alternatives to contain your four-legged family member.
