Piano Lessons for Boomers: Unique Online Piano Course Gets Seniors Playing

Getting older doesn’t mean creativity has to end

March 12, 2011 - PRLog -- Piano … everyone at one time or another has wanted to play it. And if you’re a baby boomer and thought it was too late, think again.

The piano lessons, created by pianist/composer Edward Weiss promises to help anyone create their own beautiful New Age piano music.

Why New Age piano? Course creator Edward Weiss explains:

“I wanted to create piano lessons where anyone could just sit down and play what they feel without sheet music. I teach something called the open position chord and with it, adults can play a modern sound right away using both hands.”

Asked why so many seniors take his course, Weiss has this to say:

“I think many people who have taken classical piano are frustrated that they can’t just go to the piano, place their hands on a chord, and just play something. I’ve had so many students (many of the seniors) who have thanked me for helping them just play what they feel. All that is required is knowledge of a few chords and the willingness to try.”

Weiss is currently offering a free piano lesson ‘Summer Morning’ that teaches students how to improvise in the Key of C Major. A free book is also offered at the website http://www.quiescencemusic.com
