Studies have shown that when a business becomes a Drug Free Workplace the benefits can been seen and experienced. There tends to be a reduction in absenteeism, a higher level of productivity, less conflicts with supervisors, and a decrease of on-the-job accidents and injuries. There are also studies that show worker's comp. claims and health claims are less when a company is a Drug Free Workplace. Not to mention, that in the state of Georgia, there is a 7 1/2% discount off a company's worker's comp. insurance when becoming a DFW.

Employers do not need to drug test their current employees unless there is reasonable suspicion or post accidents. However, once they become a Drug Free Workplace, they must then begin to drug test their in-coming employees from that point on.
