Japan Grants Trademark for babyLance(r) Infant Heel Incision Device

March 10, 2011 - PRLog -- ATLANTA and TOKYO – MediPurpose(r), a master distributor and manufacturer of medical products, today announced that its logo for the babyLance(r) infant heel incision device has been granted trademark protection in Japan.

The Statement of Grant of Protection issued by the Japan Patent Office protects both the word "babyLance" and the neonatal heel stick's unique blue and green logo.

The medical device trademark is also registered in the United States, Australia, China, the European Union, Korea, Singapore and Switzerland.

The babyLance(r) name and logo was designed by MediPurpose(r) with the cooperation of an international graphics consultant who also designed the logo for the SurgiLance(r) safety lancet and MediPlus(tm) Advanced Wound Care Products.

Launched last year, babyLance(r) is a single-use heel incision device utilized to obtain a blood sample from the heels of newborn (babyLance(r) BLN) and preemie (babyLance(r) BLP) infants.
