Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter and Subaru of Mt. Olive partner to host a discount pet microchipping clinic on April 16, 2011.

March 10, 2011 - PRLog -- Subaru and Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter care about your pet!

On Saturday, April 16th from noon till 3pm, Subaru of Mt. Olive will host a discount microchipping clinic in cooperation with Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter of East Hanover. Microchipping is a simple procedure, similar to a routine shot and takes only seconds.  A microchip, similar in size to a grain of rice, is injected between the shoulder blades.  No anesthetic is required.   A microchip is permanent pet ID which lasts for the life of your pet.  It is read by passing a scanner over the animal which reads a unique ID code that positively identifies the pet.

Mt. Pleasant uses Home Again microchips, which are the only microchips on the market that have a patented anti-migration feature to help ensure the microchip remains in place and is easily scanned.  If your pet is lost and taken to an animal shelter or veterinarian, they will scan the microchip and discover the unique code for your pet.  This number is used by Home Again to identify the animal and to retrieve your contact information.   Home Again will then reunite you with your pet.

Microchipping at this special clinic will be at a discount rate of only $25.00 per pet.  Appointments are not required.  Subaru of Mt. Olive is located at 364 Route 46 West in Hackettstown.

Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter will also have adoptable dogs on hand to visit with while you  check out the great selection of Subaru vehicles in the showroom.

Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter located at 194 Route 10 West in East Hanover behind Petsmart is a no kill, nonprofit animal welfare organization that is 100% privately funded.  The organization provides exceptional care for homeless animals while promoting spaying/neutering, microchipping and humane education.  Mt.
