Ford Offers Fuel Efficient Focus, Fiesta, Fusion Hybrid and More

March 10, 2011 - PRLog -- As fuel economy becomes a greater priority to consumers, automaker Ford delivers fuel efficient vehicles in all body styles – cars, trucks and SUVs.  Between the Ford and Lincoln lineups, Ford offers 12 vehicles that lead their segments in fuel economy.  Of the 12, four vehicles receive an impressive EPA certified rating of 40 mpg or more.

The newest vehicle added to the 40 mpg plus category is the all-new Focus Super Fuel Economy (SFE).  The Focus SFE utilizes a fuel efficient 2.0-liter gasoline direct-injection DOHC four-cylinder engine paired with a dry-clutch six-speed PowerShift automatic transmission.  In addition the vehicle increases fuel efficiency with better aerodynamics and active grille shutters.

The Ford Fusion Hybrid, branded as America’s most fuel efficient mid-size sedan gets an EPA estimated 41 mpg.  Its power is supplied by an electric motor powered by an innovate nickel-metal hydride battery and the 2.5-liter Atkinson-Cycle I-4 gas engine.  The Fusion Hybrid also utilizes regenerative braking and is adorned with eco-friendly cloth seats inside the cabin.  

Equipped with the SFE package, the Ford Fiesta SE gets an optimal 40 mpg on the highway.  The small car is extremely affordable and is powered by a 1.6-liter four cylinder engine mated with the available six-speed PowerShift automatic transmission.  The Fiesta is designed aerodynamically smart with a body style that minimizes air resistance.  With the SFE package the aerodynamic details are improved even more with underbody shields and blockers on the lower grille.
