March 10, 2011 - PRLog -- The Truro Rotary Club Great Pancake Race 2011 on Shrove Tuesday saw a team from the local firm flipping pancakes around the appropriately named Lemon Quay to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care and other local Rotary supported charities.  Tracy Lewis, Vicky Reynolds, Georgie May and David Mattingley made up the team called ‘Three Pancakes and a Lemon’ and they raised £196 for charity.

The Rotary event organizer Debbie Wyatt was delighted to welcome Robinson Reed Layton back:

“The team from Robinson Reed Layton is always good fun and it’s great to have the continuing support of this local firm.  It’s a highly entertaining event that raises vital funds for local charities and it’s great to see the accountants involved in the community.”

17 teams took place in this the ninth consecutive year of the pancake race with a sterling £21,000 having already been raised.

Later in the month Robinson Reed Layton staff are putting their frying pans down and their best feet forward to raise funds for one of their clients, the Cornwall Blind Association.  On Saturday 19th March a team of six from the firm is walking 11 miles in Stride for Sight, a sponsored walk from Portreath to Devoran along the Mineral Tramway Trail.

Stephen Gainey, Partner of Robinson Reed Layton, is looking forward to the event:

“We enjoy working with the Cornwall Blind Association and are especially pleased to be able to help them by raising funds.  We’re hoping for fine weather and some compelling conversation to see us complete the coast to coast walk!”

Jessica Ratty, Communications Manager for the Cornwall Blind Association said:

“We are delighted that we have the support from Robinson Reed Layton. We have been overwhelmed with people’s generosity and we are very excited to welcome the team to the walk, and we hope they will all have a wonderful time.”
