By: Long Beach Bar Association “We hope to make the law and local government more accessible to our friends and neighbors,” said David R. Haberbush, Esq., president of the Long Beach Bar Association. “Quite simply, knowledge is power. We at the Long Beach Bar Association feel that in this economy, now more than ever, it’s important that our community be empowered so we can all make educated decisions for our future.” To launch the series, Long Beach City Auditor Laura Doud will demystify the role and function of her Office and take questions from the community. “As the City Auditor, my job is all about accountability to the community – the taxpayers– and transparency in reporting to ensure that their money is being allocated appropriately and effectively,” Hotel Maya is located at 700 Queensway Drive. A community mixer, including dinner, will begin at 6:00 p.m. and the program will begin at 7:00 p.m. About the Long Beach Bar Association The Long Beach Bar Association was founded by a small group of lawyers in the parlor of the Hotel Schuyler on February 3, 1917.
