Pleasant Hill Middle School Students to Display Art in Store

PLEASANT HILL, CALIF. (March 9, 2011) - Sinful Bliss Cupcakes is opening in downtown Pleasant Hill in early April.  Sinful Bliss offers a dozen flavors including chocolate, vanilla, raspberry and one of its most popular, red velvet cheesecake. Each cupcake uses quality ingredients, is baked fresh daily and artfully decorated. The individual treats come in regular and mini sizes. Shoppers can watch the baking and decorating while enjoying a cupcake. Sinful Bliss custom designs special orders to complement any celebration, big or small. Sinful Bliss Cupcakes uses local ingredients whenever possible including Roast Co. Coffee, Berkeley Farms dairy products and Guittard Chocolate.

"Celebrate life's everyday moments" is, owner Tammie Parnell's motto.  Among her family and friends, she is the creative party planner who relishes life.  After defeating breast cancer and being laid off from her banking job, she decided that channeling her talents and passions into baking and decorating imaginative and fun cupcakes would be a true expression of her motto.
"My life is about celebrating, entertaining and being with those I love," said Tammie Parnell. "The response to my cupcakes  was so positive, opening the store became the next logical step to sharing that joy for life and life's achievements, big or small, with others. My flavors and designs are made with the recipient in mind and sprinkled with a little bit of rock n roll.”
Grand Opening
Grand opening festivities, which begin at 10 am on Sunday, April 17, will include a ribbon cutting, free tastings, a fundraiser event for the Pleasant Hill Middle School Art Department, a cupcake design contest and more.
Sinful Bliss is donating 100% of the day's cupcake profits to Pleasant Hill Middle School Art Department. Students from the school will create artwork inspired by California painter Wayne Thiebaud. Those pieces will be on display during and following the grand opening. Sinful Bliss will continue to support art and breast cancer non-profit organizations through cupcake fundraisers.  
"Art is a passion of mine and something I want to encourage among children and adults," commented Tammie. "I'm delighted to be able to showcase the students' artwork in the store and donate profits from my opening day to the Pleasant Hill Middle School Art Department."
On grand opening day, children can create a cupcake design with a winner selected by Tammie. Fifty of the winner's designs will be made and sold on April 23 with profits of the sales benefiting Pleasant Hill Elementary.
