The County of San Bernardino to Hold State of the County 2011 Event

The 2011 San Bernardino State of the County event to be held April 6, 2011 will provide an opportunity to gain insight into the information received from San Bernardino County’s proactive Visioning Process.

March 9, 2011 - PRLog -- COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINO, CALIF. – The 2011 State of the County, to be held April 6, 2011 at Million Air, will provide over 1,000 members of the business community, residents, civic and education leaders with an opportunity to gain insight into the information received from the County’s proactive Visioning Process.

This Process gathered input from hundreds of citizens at community meetings held throughout the County, thousands of online surveys, and business roundtables with more than 25 expert groups including retail, environment, home building, military, education, health care, and commercial real estate. The Process is designed to create a portrait of the future the County seeks to create. It will produce a shared vision that provides a predictable, welcoming environment for businesses looking to grow and invest in the County.

The event begins at 4:30 p.m. with pre-event networking and registration. The State of the County program will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a presentation by the Board of Supervisors of the Visioning Process results to date. The event concludes with business networking.
“For the first time in the history of San Bernardino County, all 24 cities and towns and the County are working together to create a vision of our future. San Bernardino County has a growing body of work demonstrating innovative and collaborative solutions to critical issues,” said Board of Supervisors Chair Josie Gonzales, who represents the Fifth District, “Understanding our community as a system and ways in which we all inter-connect, as well as understanding the larger regional, statewide, national and global context in which we exist, is key to knowing how to prioritize and allocate resources. Through this process we can invest our energies in aligning priorities with our collective vision for the County.”

State of the County 2011 will be held at Million Air at San Bernardino International Airport located at 295 N Leland Norton Way in San Bernardino. Tickets are $50. To register go to www.sbcountyadvantage.com.
