Sunday, March 20th from 2pm to 4pm: Chef Anthony Ferrando from Dish in Red Bank and Chef George Lyristis from The Bistro at Red Bank will be at the Carter & Cavero store located at 19 Monmouth Street.
LONG BRANCH, NJ
Saturday, March 19th from 1pm to 3pm: Chef Dominique Filoni from Avenue in Pier Village/ Long Branch will be at the Carter & Cavero Pier Village store located at 36 Centennial Drive. Pier Village’s Cake Bake & Roll will contribute delicious treats.
Saturday, March 26th from 2pm to 4pm: Chef Luis Bollo from Mediterra in Princeton will be at the Carter & Cavero Palmer Square store located at 27 Palmer Square West.
Sensational Salts Weekends at Carter & Cavero will be the gateway to introduce a new line of salts from around the world with specially created sampling dishes by chefs from Dish and The Bistro at Red Bank, Mediterra in Princeton and Avenue in Long Branch, New Jersey. The chefs will be asked to create anything from simple delicious salads to creative inspiring dishes. Until recently, sea salt was considered a basic commodity - sea salt was just salt! Now, however, gourmet chefs, in homes and in restaurants, have learned to appreciate and distinguish between the distinctive qualities of the many varieties of gourmet sea salts and the ways in which these salts enhance the flavors and finishes of foods. The purpose of our Sensational Salts Weekends at Carter & Cavero is to provide visitors with a chance to taste for themselves the differences among these deliciously unique sea salts and to choose the perfect gourmet sea salt for their cooking needs. Carter & Cavero will also provide guests with an assortment of olive oils and balsamic vinegars for their tasting pleasure.
Chef and owner Anthony Ferrando of Dish, is known for his New American cuisine with a unique Mediterranean twist which he attributes to his Italian heritage and extensive travel throughout southern Italy. Chef Ferrando's culinary creations are as varied and eclectic as the many countries that have inspired him and his menu often features dishes reflecting Southern American, Mexican, Indian, Asian, French, and European flavors.
Chef and owner George Lyristis of The Bistro at Red Bank is known for bringing the world right to your table. His specialties include creating exceptional world-class sushi and culinary samplings of cuisines from Europe, Asia and the Americas.
Executive chef Dominique Filoni of Avenue was introduced into the Maîtres Cuisiniers de France (Master Chef of France, a prestigious association of chefs) at age 33, making him the youngest French Master Chef in the U.S. Chef Filoni's culinary experience is international - North Africa, Greece, Italy and Corsica but mainly his influence comes from his native France.
Luis Bollo, executive chef of Mediterra restaurant in Princeton, New Jersey is trained in Spain and specializes in Basque/French cuisine. His unique style of Mediterranean cuisine comes from his vast experience and training in Michelin rated hotels and restaurants throughout Europe. Chef Luis Bollo was awarded Chef of the Year in the 2003 Square Magazine Best Chefs & Restaurants Awards.
